Eco-creativity – artistic and literary work displayed in the community

At the beginning of March all the participants in the project received a challenge. They were given the theme of a literary and artistic contest and were invited to participate in teams of five members. In groups of 5, 4 typical students and one special partner, pupils cooperated to make artistic and literary works in order to raise awareness to our failure to see the nature’s beauty and our ignorance when it comes to protecting the environment. Some of the students in a group wrote a text with a powerful message while the other members made some drawings, collages, or even composed a piece of music, inspired by that particular piece of writing.

All the texts started from the following quote of the famous Romanian sculpture, Constantin Brâncuși: «People no longer realize the joy of living because they do not seem to know any more how to look at the nature’s wonders». The quote was proposed as part of the 8th edition of Creo Creare Plurilingual and Artistic Competition, organised by Colegiul Național Mircea cel Bătrân of Constanța and approved by the School Inspectorate of Constanța County.

26 of the projects that were produced as part of the partnership received high scores and were registered in the external competition. On the 26th September 2023, using platforms for online meetings, the partners took part in the award ceremony together, celebrating with the school community in Constanța, Romania, the European Day of Languages. The representatives of the Romanian school were physically present at the event, while the students and teachers from the Serbian and Greek school connected via a Zoom meeting. Wearing T-shirts with their drawings displaying powerful visual messages, students presented their work and kindly asked the audience to scan their QR code and vote for their event created on the platform celebrating the European Day of Languages. All the 26 projects comprising literary and artistic works, received 1st and 2nd place prizes, diplomas and recognition among members of the school and local community.
